Beautiful Summer Zone Conference Days
Zone Conference Theme "Faith to Find the Elect" was inspirational. President and Sister Sainsbury taught to 1. Align ourselves with Christ and Heavenly Father 2. Faith to generate positive thoughts and work as assigned 3. Become Master Teachers of Preach My Gospel, Keep it Simple, Beautiful. Be humble, prayerful, obedient, abide in His word, keep the commandments, follow the Spirit.
Missionary Miracles -Two sisters were texting a lady whose husband had passed away this past year. As they taught the Restoration and read with her in the Book of Mormon, she cried great big tears and the knowledge changed her whole world!! She wants to be baptized and come to church. The lady referred a friend who invited another friend! The sisters said, "Put these principles to the test, apply it and testify and it changes lives!!
One Elder said he taught a women who said she would read the Book of Mormon and was transferred. The next thing he heard at a family home evening was she was getting baptized on her birthday! (same day as General conference)
One sister related: "We received a referral 50 miles away, so a member had to drive us to deliver a Bible and a Book of Mormon. After reading one week, he knew the Book of Mormon was true!! He quit drinking coffee, quit smoking and was baptized last Saturday." (1st person in 2 years in that area)
Sister Sainsbury shared attending a Temple Sealing for a couple who had struggled through meth addictions. (One was a supplier to a user and they fell in love) He had been in foster care his entire growing up years and remembered feeling the happiest when he attended the church. At one point his mother couldn't handle him and dropped him off at his father's home with just one suitcase. Years passed and this man saw 2 Elders in a church parking lot and he asked them to come and teach him. This man drove to pick up his girl friend and her daughter and move them many miles to his new home. He helped his girl friend to detox and asked the missionaries to give her a blessing and teach her the Gospel. The Elders supported this couple through many lessons, blessings and fellowship.
Sister missionaries were transferred where the Elders had been teaching. One day the young couple told the sisters they couldn't come back to church because it was so difficult and embarrassing for him to not be able to partake of the Sacrament when his girlfriend could.(he was baptized as a child and needed to repent, be married) The sisters started crying and told him how much they loved him and his girl friend. The couple started crying and said they would come back to church. After getting married and her and her daughter being baptized, they stayed valiant and a year later were sealed in the Temple.
Now she is a ward mission leader, shares a strong testimony and gives wonderful talks at baptisms, quoting scriptures and challenging each one to read the Book of Mormon daily. Their family shows great enthusiasm and zeal for the work, bringing others to Christ and continues faithful. (This story brought tears of joy to everyone's eyes as the Spirit confirmed the great power of Jesus Christ to change lives.)
