Mother's and Father's Day and Rosie's Birthday

Sunday in Sylacauga with Elder Hamblin, Elder Harris, President Ford (Mission Presidency speaker), Elder Barfuss and President Cordner.  (Just prior to transfer changes) Great Elders keeping a perfect clean apartment, staying healthy and working hard!!

Rosie's sister, Diane sent her a fun b-day package with Dolly Dingle fabric motifs and hankie
prints she made up in a quilt for one of the grands!!  It was a fun diversion from medical issues!

Niki sent a photo of  Sweet  E. Z. Mix's blessing day with Sisters and Daddy.  He is such a doll baby!

We were bursting with pride reviewing a fun video of Blair in his new role as Dixie College Police Chief!!
Darling footprints and deer horn jewelry from the Mix clan celebrating all the special days!!
Mimosa Flowers everywhere along the roadways!!

For a birthday outing Elder Barfuss indulged me with a visit to "Old Northport" art gallery, toy shop, 5&10 and historical sites under the railroad trestle.
Many well wishes also included some nice gift cards from Bryce's family and a big package from Saudi-Arabia where Byron is stationed for 2 months Air Force deployment, full of  Dad snacks, gum, mints, hand soaps, cards and some sass!! Steve received a t-shirt and most his favorite treats!!
We made up Mother's Day gift packs to share for Mother's Day after our Sylacauga Branch meetings.   It was fun to think of the ladies, make up the candy, mints, tissue, dish scrubbie packages and pass them out. We gave some left overs to the missionaries to pass out as they went finding.
For Father's Day, Julie and Coy Blanchard invited us over for lunch with the missionaries after our meetings.  All of us had such a nice visit.  We enjoyed Salmon, roast beef, veggies and spaghetti squash that tasted like hash browns!(baked right side up) We brought Steve's killer potato salad and a relish tray.  Julie sent home some wonderful danish dessert.
This season always makes us a little sad remembering our parents; three of whom are on the other side and one who is just lingering along.  We pay tribute to their lives and teaching us eternal truths.

"Honour thy father and they mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." Exodus 20:12
