Zone Conferences and Missionary Miracles

Five Zone Conferences in Birmingham, Inverness, Mongomery, Tupelo and Huntsville happening over the next eight days.  Elder and Sister Barfuss enjoyed the Birmingham Zone Conference and were spiritually fed.
Missionary miracles shared by the young missionaries is always one of the favorite parts of the training.
Two Elders had a Sunday afternoon appointment cancellation and after consulting their area book, biked up and down tough hills to deliver a Book of Mormon to an investigator.  She had a dream the night before that her Book of Mormon would arrive and it happened!!  They were able to set up appointments to teach her and were excited about the opportunity!!
A "ministering angel" brother asked the missionaries to visit a less active family 10 miles away!  The Elders were only allowed 9 miles a day to keep within their mileage allotment after figuring in all the other meetings and service they had to drive to. The angel brother drove them and accompanied their visit with the wife who had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.  The husband had a dream that his wife would beat the cancer and she did!!  After this miracle they have a desire to reconnect and be active ward members. What a great experience facilitated by a ministering brother.
Two Sisters met a man finding and he gave them "otter pops" and they talked about Joseph Smith.  The man dreamed he was like Joseph Smith and found golden plates!! They saw how prepared he was and is reading and progressing really well!!
Two elders had their car in the body shop for dent repairs and they had to refocus how to do the work walking and biking!  Working closer to their apartment they met Rico walking on the sidewalk.  Rico's co worker's father had just died and was open to take a lesson!!
Two sisters were tracting and sharing about free English lessons when they met a man that was "at a good time" and allowed them to teach him.  The referred him to the English speaking elders and the Holy Ghost led them to find the man.
Two elders were getting a ride with a ward member who was an older man with bad eyesight.  He drifted over the line,  jumped a ditch and went into a field, but drove right out of it.  The truck was big, no railings on the road and no damage on the truck!! Now that was a miracle!! Luckily they breathed easier when he drove them home slowly!!
One of our far away elders sustained a horrible sprained ankle playing basketball. He couldn't put any weight on it and it was severely bruised. Members were kind enough to drive him to Urgent Care for x-rays, pay for an off loading brace and help him back to his apartment. Under the direction of our Area Medical adviser, the nurse ordered him a lace up night brace, was able to get it to him 3 days later at Zone Conference to stabilize the injury.  He is advancing in his exercise schedule and healing really well.  This is a miracle because if they follow the orthopedic protocols, the ankle will be strong for the rest of his life instead of weak!!
Some elders were able to have a member priest go with them to visit a difficult family.  They were invited in, shared a wonderful message and were invited back for another lesson!!
A ward member with YSA was working with a new contact who brought a friend that was reading the Book of Mormon with them and he has a date for baptism.  When the missionaries were at the front door, the new contact came out the back door with his friend to meet them!!
Sisters working in  YSA were doing quick surveys on the street and spoke with a man in an army coat and were able to Facebook friend and contact him.  They were worried about keeping protocol and safety while teaching a single man.  When he met them later, the army man had brought a girl friend, so it all worked out just fine!! They are planning on coming to church on Sunday!!
A women on a scooter waved down the missionaries and told them to talk to her husband who would be coming along driving a  gray truck!! Her husband waved them down and told them his name and where they were moving. They use to visit with the missionaries earlier and wanted to continue in their new area.
Two Sister Spanish speaking felt impressed to find in a certain area and were led to another part.  They had an impression to look for a "Juan".  There were two listed in the directory. Both husband and wife only spoke Spanish and the wife's father had just passed away, so she was open.  They agreed to a return appointment for the sisters to practice Spanish.

"Listen and Silent have all the same letters"

"But behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise. And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls."  Alma 37:6-7
