Easter, General Conference and April 1st all on the same Sunday!!

What a privilege to experience Our Savior's love and tender mercies during this Easter, knowing that he has given us life eternal and hope for uniting with our loved ones in the life here after.  We loved General Conference and the excitement of our new Prophet, President Nelson and his innovative ideas and leadership.  There were many wonderful talks, answers to prayers and a wonderful Spirit!!




   For an early Easter we treated four Elders and 2 Sisters to dinner at the Golden Coral.  Some of our Elders can really pack away food including 4 servings of ice cream for dessert!!  We all enjoyed the evening with all our favorite foods and great company.  I helped car pool the Sisters to contact a lady referred from the Spanish speaking Elders after dinner and enjoyed time with them.  Steve drafted the missionaries to help him heft furniture from one storage garage into the trailer after dinner, getting ready for a Colorado Senior couple. the Turnbows.
     Elder and Sister Barfuss spent most of Friday moving furniture and supplies into Demopolis (2 hours drive) for Elder and Sister Owens arriving today from Boise, ID!!  President and Sister Sainsbury fed them dinner and invited the Seniors to their home for pecan pie and ice cream to meet them.  It was fun making people connections with others we both know, since we live 3 miles apart, but never knew each other!!  They live in the Amity Stake and we live in Meridian S. Stake
     Spring is beautiful and the hedges are blooming pink and the dogwoods are in their glory.  Also colds and missionary allergies are at a high with yellow pollen thick on car windshields, air and all over the ground. Sinus trouble, dizziness, food poisoning, Influenza B quarantine too!!





                         Sister Barfuss finally finished the quilt top she was working on the past 6 months.

Zone Conference with Elder Klebingat

Instead of 5 Zone Conferences, we had two(Inverness and Gardendale) with Elder Klebingat.  President Sainsbury picked him up at the airport Wednesday night, took him to dinner and to his hotel.  I enjoyed sitting at his table and finding out he and his wife have three children and he served his mission in Colorado, but grew up in Germany.  He was a Mission President and a Stake President in the past.  He instructed President and Sister Sainsbury on the car rides to and from Tupelo's Stake Conference and had a very open and matter of fact style.      President Ballard assigns President Klebingat and delegates to him the Apolstolic keys to function.  He said, "The Lord does not waste time, He has high expectations and is focused. Zone Conferences and Missionary Miracles

      Five Zone Conferences in Birmingham, Inverness, Mongomery, Tupelo and Huntsville happening over the next eight days.  Elder and Sister Barfuss enjoyed the Birmingham Zone Conference and were spiritually fed.       Missionary miracles shared by the young missionaries is always one of the favorite parts of the training.      Two Elders had a Sunday afternoon appointment cancellation and after consulting their area book, biked up and down tough hills to deliver a Book of Mormon to an investigator.  She had a dream the night before that her Book of Mormon would arrive and it happened!!  They were able to set up appointments to teach her and were excited about the opportunity!!      A "ministering angel" brother asked the missionaries to visit a less active family 10 miles away!  The Elders were only allowed 9 miles a day to keep within their mileage allotment after figuring in all the other meetings and...
