President Sainsbury

Dear Missionaries,
I can't believe that next P Day is Christmas. At this Christmas season, Sister Sainsbury and I are exceedingly grateful for you and for who you are. The Lord has been very kind to us by sending us valiant missionaries and disciples of Christ. We are blessed by you. We are inspired by you. Our hearts are full of gratitude for your wonderful examples and great courage, for your goodness and love of God. We love you, we pray for you, we want you to be happy. As we share the Light of Christ with the world, let us remember the very purpose for this Holiday, that Christ came into the world that he might offer up his life as a sacrifice for the sins and pains of all mankind. This is the heart of Christmas, and this is what we have to offer. We offer no presents, no money, no riches, no fame. But we do offer a hope in Christ, that all mankind might find peace in this world and eternal life in the world to come. We offer the message of salvation, that Christ lives and that he loves us. We offer the blessings of the atonement and the gift of the resurrection. We offer blessings that come from a living prophet and from a book that is the most perfect book ever written. We offer the blessings of an eternal family, that death is not the end and that the grave has no sting.
This is a season of hope, a season of love, a season of joy, and a season of blessings. As we serve our Savior the best we can, as we give up all worldly concerns and cares in his service, as we strive to represent the Savior as a consecrated missionary, the divine light of Christ will shine through us and around us in blessing hearts of our Heavenly Father's children. Our testimony is that Christ is with us in this great work.

On a quiet night, long ago,
The Savior Jesus Christ was born.
Born to change all hearts,
End all goodbyes,
Reconcile all debts,
Atone for all sins.
He is the only one
Who can bridge the lonely gap
Between God and man,
And bring us home.
That is why He came,
And this is why we celebrate.

The earth has grown old with its burden of care,
But at Christmas, it always is young.
The heart of the jewel burns lustrous and fair,
And its soul full of music breaks forth on the air
When the song of the angels is sung.

It’s coming, old Earth, it’s coming tonight!
On the snowflakes, which cover thy sod
The feet of the Christchild trod, gentle and light,
And the voice of the Christchild tells out with delight
That Mankind are the Children of God!

We pray for you this week of Christmas. We pray that you will find joy in His service whose birth we celebrate. We pray for your families and friends. We pray for you to be strengthened in your challenges and trials. We pray that your testimonies will continue to grow as you share them with others. We pray that you will increase in knowledge and light and goodness. We pray that you will be happy and joyful. We pray that you will remain steadfast in Christ.
Merry Christmas!!!

Love President Sainsbury
