Arrival in Birmingham, AL-Sept. 25

Monday morning we arrived in Hoover and attended the meetings with President and Sister Sainsbury and three nurses meeting afterward for almost three hours!  We were introduced to Sister Tuck and Sister Morrison the first entrance into the Mission office.  We enjoyed meeting our Mission President and Sister Sainsbury, the older couples supporting the mission work and the 2 APs(assistants to the President) Elder Olsen and Elder Lewis. There were several cute jokes on the bulletin board created by one of the missionaries, origami and a paper car by sister missionaries displayed in the office.

Monday evening we had a lovely dinner at our President's home and prepared by Sister Sainsbury for two new senior couples(Barfuss & Dances).  We enjoyed stuffed salmon, delicate almond and cranberry topped salads, rolls, green beans. The rest of the senior couples came for the scrumptious apple dessert with caramel topping.  It was a joy to meet them all including Lucy Flake Christensen and her husband Virgil Christensen.   Sister Christensen remembered Steve and his family from growing up in the Boise, ID 22nd Ward!!  Steve was so surprised she remembered him, since she was a few years older. Lucy recognized Steve, but Steve didn't recognize her.
